Trillions of photographs later, photography remains enigmatic. Be it what is found through a lens, or formed through a lens, photography is ubiquitous and uncanny. It ranges from the superficial to the profound, from the tame to the feral. Its properties properly realised, it is astonishingly hypersensitive. The various forms of photography on this website are each in their own way an attempt to understand these possibilities.

One myth about photography is that it is innately reproducible. Some is, some isn't. Sometimes it is unclear what the original really is. The low resolution reproductions on this website are inevitably a poor reference of the original photographs, lacking their definition, scale and physicality. Seeing is indeed believing, faced with the real thing.
